Key Responsibilities:

Role: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Position Summary
Aspire Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and organized Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient orthopedic clinic in Glendale. PTA works under the supervision of a physical therapist, assisting patients with exercises and therapeutic interventions as outlined in a treatment plan, monitoring their progress, and educating them on home care routines to help them regain movement and manage pain after injury or illness; key duties include instructing patients on exercises, utilizing therapeutic modalities like heat or electrical stimulation, and providing feedback to the physical therapist on patient progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, and functional activities as appropriate
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Educate patients on exercises, injury prevention, and home exercise programs as directed
- Accurately document treatments, progress, and patient responses in the EMR in a timely manner
- Assist with patient flow and ensure a positive patient experience
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
- Adhere to all state regulations, clinic policies, and professional standards
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, aides, and front office staff to support efficient clinic operations
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient setting

- Preferred Qualifications

PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE - All Clinics
A Physical Therapy Aide works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT) and assists in patient care and clinic operations. The primary role includes preparing treatment areas, assisting with therapeutic exercises, and supporting the Physical Therapist in daily tasks. PT aides ensure patients receive quality care while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine patient care duties as directed by and under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Greet patients and help them prepare for their session (e.g., setting up necessary equipment and supplies, preparing for exercises, or applying modalities).
- Administer physical therapy modalities and procedures in accordance with treatment plans.
- Prepare and Assist with Modalities: Set up and operate modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat/ice packs, and traction units.
- Monitor Patients During Exercises: Ensure patients perform exercises correctly and safely. Offer assistance as needed to maintain proper posture and form.
- Record Keeping: Document patient progress, completed treatments, and any observations in patient files.
- Transport Patients: Help patients move from one treatment area to another as needed (e.g., from the exercise area to modalities).
- Assist with Therapeutic Exercises: Provide hands-on assistance with exercises as directed by the Physical Therapist. This can include guiding patients through movements, adjusting their positions, and providing support to maintain proper form.
- Assist PT with Patient Evaluations:
- Help with patient evaluations, ensuring patients are comfortable and have the necessary equipment.
- Clean, maintain, and organize all clinic equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver evidence-based practices in physical therapy and sports performance.
- Adapt to daily schedule changes to accommodate patient needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and team members.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient care effectively.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient intake procedures.
- Ability to assist in outpatient orthopedic services and care for geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and schedule patient appointments to optimize daily clinical operations.
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency.
- Verify insurance eligibility and physical therapy benefits for new and returning patients.
- Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals by calling insurance companies directly.
- Accurately input and update patient and insurance information in WebPT, our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
